DE QUOI S’AGIT-IL ?
Il s’agit d’enseigner à 4 jeunes volontaires de Moorea l’importance environnementale et culturelle des bassin-versants, et leurs relations avec l’océan. Les connaissances acquises lors de cette formation seront renforcées par une formation en plongée sous-marine. À la clé pour les participants : une certification de niveau 1 en plongée.
POURQUOI SOUTENIR CE PROJET ?
Ce projet vise à valoriser notre culture et la richesse de notre environnement afin de sensibiliser les jeunes de Moorea avec une approche théorique et sur le terrain. Ce programme contribue ainsi à faire de ces jeunes des ambassadeurs éclairés pour la protection de l’environnement de leur île. Il s’agit de la 2ème édition de ce programme.
COMMENT LES DONS SERONT-ILS UTILISÉS ?
La totalité des fonds collectés sera destinée au financement de la formation en plongée sous-marine pour ces 4 jeunes de Moorea, aux frais de transport, déjeuner et d’administration.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?
The project aims to teach 4 youth from Moorea about the environmental and cultural importance of watersheds and their relationship with the ocean. The knowledge acquired during this training will be reinforced by scuba diving activities. The end result for the participants is a level 1 certification in scuba diving.
WHAT IS A WATERSHED?
The watershed is a space which drains all of its water towards a common outlet. In Polynesia, it is generally the area defined by a valley, along a river from the top of the mountain to the ocean. It is the management unit of the great water cycle. This is relevant to our territory because it addresses issues of water deficit, pollution, migrating fish, etc…
WHY SUPPORT THIS PROJECT?
This project aims to enhance our culture and the richness of our environment, to train young people in their cultural and environmental history and to certify youth of Moorea in scuba diving. This will create conscious citizens of Moorea who will then continue to be caretakers of their environment, and they can also use their scuba diving diploma for a future career. This is the 2nd edition of this program.
HOW WILL THE DONATIONS BE USED?
All of the funds collected will be used to finance scuba diving training for these 4 young people, lunch provided, the cost of transport, and the cost of employees during the program.
